Ihsan Resins Society Limited is a society that is made of farmers, farm laborer’s unions and local traders of wildly crafted natural gums and resins harvested from the Horn of Africa region. The company was founded to bring together farmers and local forces to improve trade efficiency by eliminating or reducing the negative impact of middlemen, as well as to meet the demands for natural gums and resins from a variety of industries around the world, including the pharmaceutical, aromatherapy, and perfume industries. Ihsan Resins Society consists of multiple unions and is first hand supplier of a variety of types and grades of resins such as Frankincense Olibanum, Gum Myrrh, Opoponax, Gum Arabic, Shilajit, Dry Lemon etc. All our products are organic fresh harvests and sourced from our small farmers and families who have been doing this business for generations with a wealth of experience and have high reverence for the environment and in particular the sacred and naturally wildly grown trees.
Ihsan Resins Society employs dozens of people, with many more aligned through our operations, providing jobs and livelihoods for local communities; these include women for product sorting and grading, men from remote villages for harvesting the product, labourers, rural agents, drivers, and transporters, all of whom have a say in the society. Most of our direct employees are young unemployed mothers and girls who we have trained, as we believe girls can do as good a job as anyone but also are more reliable and trustworthy.
